Labour Vision Rally 2010
On Saturday 16th January 2010, the St Kitts-Nevis Labour party held the largest event in its political history.
The theme of the night was 'Labour Vision' and a massive crowd of more than 12 000 people turned up to show their support. Each candidate delivered inspirational speeches outlining their vision for the future of the country and their individual constituency, while also reflecting on Labour’s many successes over the past 15 years.
The evening was dedicated to the people of Haiti and the families of those who have fallen victim to the earthquake, and included a poignant free performance by one of the world’s biggest names in music, and Ambassador to Haiti, Wyclef Jean. The Prime Minister encouraged all supporters and citizens to contribute a donation to the ongoing rescue and relief effort.
Local acts, Sudiepop, Pepper Ranks, Infamus, Grand Masters, Kashman & C Money and DJ Ronnie Rascal performed to an energized crowd. While the popular Labour Youth group 'RED' also made another appearance, this time performing a vibrant dance routine to the King Konris song 'Take the Oath'.
It was truly a most memorable night for the Federation, with many thousands of Kittitians and Nevisians coming to listen to a raft of visionary new Labour policies, and to pledge solidarity to the citizens of Haiti.
Streamed live over the Internet and on TV and radio, it was a night to be proud of, as St Kitts & Nevis showcased to the world why we are the most dynamic, vibrant and visionary country in the region and how we will continue on our path of progress.
