Labour has made the creation of new homeowners a number one priority because Labour knows that homeownership is the most dramatic and dependable path to social and economic empowerment.

Home Owership Why Labour Stresses Home Ownership:
- When Labour creates a new homeowner, it opens, for that person, doors to bank loans, wealth accumulation, business opportunities, social progress, social status, economic security and inter-generational economic security.
Labour knows that when someone acquires a home for the first time, they:
- Control an asset whose value increases from year to year; are freed from the un-ending obligation to pay rent, can look forward to the day when neither rent nor mortgage payments will be necessary and will have these newly freed funds for investments or other purposes.
Mechanisms for Expanded Home Ownership:
Labour keeps pushing forward.- Through the Special Land Initiative, the National Housing Corporation and the Development Bank, Labour is continuing to provide additional lands, additional homes, additional assets, additional security – and real economic power – to the people of the federation.
Evidence of Labour’s Extraordinary Success:
In the last 14 years, Labour created 3,891 new homeowners. In the 15 years the other party was in government, they created 250.
